January often leaves your editor feeling particularly optimistic and it is very possible that 2017 will be the year that brings some much needed resolution to the lives shattered by polypropylene mesh.

Let’s pray that those injured by hernia mesh will finally see movement and consideration of their mesh injuries as well.

Let’s pray that doctors who use mesh will take into consideration some real patient outcomes that are not as rosy as manufacturers painted.
