After many months of silence from the courts, injured women are now taking their cases to trial and at the beginning of this month there are three trials starting on the same day, November 3! Some of these are bellwether cases which test legal theories and can eventually lead to a settlement if the defendant corporations keep losing in court.

Most believe that will eventually happen and two manufacturers - C.R. Bard and American Medical Systems already have settlements underway. Women report to MND the amount of money they have been offered. After legal fees are subtracted, many women say they will not settle! Boston Scientific and Ethicon ( Johnson& Johnson) apparently will be the last mesh makers to settle, but one never really knows!

Of course, no amount of money is a substitute for not being harmed in the first place.

If you are signing with a law firm, please understand the terms of the contract before you sign especially what amount is subtracted for legal fees, if it is capped, if expenses are subtracted and if they are capped and what tier of injury you might fall into.
